Oops…forgot to post this two posts again... :(
Well, Baruch College has adopted social media
(Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube) not too long ago. I did not know about it
until registrar email me about the date of registration and what social
platforms they use. On their homepage, the icons are quite small and barely noticeable.
They need to make that more appealing. However, Baruch College uses these
social platforms quite often to communicate and keep students up to date. On
the other hand, YouTube seems to be a platform to improve their public image
with interviews, conferences and a glimpse of how Baruch College is like on the
inside. I think that can be improved by recording some class video lectures
like Yale or Khan Academy. (Especially if we miss class) I want to see how some
professors teach before I register for that particular course as well. Another
point I want to touch upon is BlackBoard. I rarely see any professor use
BlackBoard collaboratively except for this online course, psychology and a
music course. We all go on BlackBoard to download our material and leave. I
guess we need some way to interact with the professor more on BlackBoard
besides email. Some professors do not even respond to the email when we need
help the most.

Agree on being able to see lectures of a professor before registering for that class. Ratemyprofessors only goes so far. I guess they don't want to have them posted openly on the Internet. Maybe they could find a way to limit it to Baruch students?
